Starting In Internet Marketing

When you're new in internet marketing, you may be confused with all the ways you can make money online. There is social media, blogging, video marketing, doing ads, sales funnels, list-building, conversions, selling your own physical products, affiliate and network marketing, just to name a few.

Learning all of this at the same time can become confusing and overwhelming. Back in the beginning of 2014, when I first entered this industry, I tried to learn just about everything I could, all at once. I started to feel like it was too much. I was learning about Facebook and Twitter to get leads, Google keywords, blogging, video marketing and email marketing, copywriting and so forth. So many things at once that I was having a hard time keeping up with it all.

The good news is that you DON'T have to be like me and figure it all out. You only need to do 3 things when starting your online marketing career.

Find An Offer To Promote

First, you need to have an offer to promote. This can be anything from affiliate offers, network marketing products/services or your own products or services. If you're just getting started, I recommend doing affiliate or network marketing because everything is already done for you, all you need to do is find customers. Later on if you feel you'd like to add more to your portfolio, then you can start making your own products.

I started with affiliate and network marketing, and now have added my own product to my "store" ;)

Build Your List

Now that you have your offer, you'll have to start building your list to market to. This helps you to brand yourself because you are building a relationship with your list and this eventually leads to sales over time.

With this step, you can also use an autoresponder to help build a relationship if you choose to do so.

Get Traffic To Your Offer

Now the fun part-traffic! You need to get eyeballs on your stuff.... and this is where it can get tricky, because as I stated, there are many ways you can do this, but you should just focus on one or two ways that you like doing. For me personally, I blog (obviously) and I do video marketing to go along with most of my posts. The way I get most of my traffic is through social media. Facebook is my main area, but I do have my profile linked to Twitter as well.

With Facebook, you can get free organic traffic by doing all the hard-work. You'd need to talk with people or possibly post in a few groups (I'm NOT talking about spamming the groups!!) Or you can do paid ads on Facebook and target people who would be most likely to buy your offer.

With YouTube is the same-free or pay to have your videos shown. If you want to get organic traffic you'd have to learn how to get your videos ranked in Google and YouTube.

With blogging all you need to do is create your posts, use the correct keywords and/or post it on social media.

These are just a few ways you can start to get traffic, there are many more strategies, but just pick one or two and focus on mastering those ways you'll have many people start looking at your stuff! :D
